SUPERIOR SALES DISRUPTION
EPISODE 01
Jamie Lobina & Mark Truelson
The Origins of Sales Disruption
In this ‘entree’ episode to the Superior Sales Disruption Podcast, Jamie & Mark interview each other. Key topics explored started from their beginnings, through to their time as National Account Managers and landed with their divergent paths through the sales and marketing industries. Tales of disruption and even a ditty on Bruce Springsteen ensued and provides a roadmap for those who want to change the status quo and make an impact with their customers.
So, look if I take a step back, and look back on it now it was probably one of the biggest interventions for Superior Sales Force at the time. We were asked by ironically James Lane who we will be interviewing next week, James came to us as they were launching Glaceau Vitamin Water. Yes, they had a sales team of 600, and CCA wanted a completely different go to market strategy. They wanted a standalone team to be Glaceau Vitamin water, to go out and live and breathe Vitamin water and that’s what we did. We had a team of 34-38 reps on the road every day working on behalf of Coke. They were trained in conjunction with Superior Sales Force techniques, and Coca Cola route practice and it was a really disruptive program, especially for Coke. They’d never done anything like that before.
